Trouble is that if we, in the West, speak out, we often get told that we're ignorant, racist and islamophobic. It's a tough issue allround.
We can handle some mean words being thrown at us. Compared to getting a clitoris cut out...it's a small price to pay

I agree, but it is often a succesful way in shutting people up when we need to continue to speak out.
