It's to prove that some people, like in Islam, will twist whatever principles to suit their own ambitions.

Because Quran is Quran. Everyone interprets it the way they want. It's a religion, that's what religion is. Same with other faiths.

Of course I do. Trouble is it makes the fight against them harder when non-Muslims defend their ideology and believe it to be correct.

Please,by all means "interpret"(cherry pick) the Quran all you want, just dont take a literal reading of it as you will get groups like Isis
