I apologize if I came off as hostile but it's painful to remember how my mother was attacked for wearing it, growing up in Europe.
I’m sorry your mother was attacked for wearing it. That’s unacceptable. I’m glad she was in EU where there are laws to protect her freedom of choice. Millions of women are not as lucky as your mom. They live in countries where the actual govt attacks them for not wearing it.
I completely agree that no one should be forced to confirm with religious doctrine. There has to be a way to talk about it without making it seem no rational person would ever choose to follow it voluntarily.
Have you ever worn hijab? I wore hijab and niqab. I truly believe no person would wear it unless they are being coerced by their God, society, or family. This is evidenced by the fact that no women who is not either Muslim or living under Islam wears hijab. Only coerced women do.
