I’d suggest you read Ali Unal’s annotated Quran alone with Reza Aslan’s No God But God.

I've been a Muslim for 20 years sis. My lifetime experience as a Muslim trumps the little weekend reading you did. And I read Reza Aslan's book. Reza is a joke. Muslims don't like him. Ex-Muslims don't like him. His beliefs are unislamic.

This is a quote from him: "Let me be clear, I am Muslim not because I think Islam is "truer" than other religions (it isn't), but because Islam provides me with the "language" I feel most comfortable with in expressing my faith."

That’s the best way to think of religion, in my opinion.

Yeah, if only the rest of the 1.8 billion Muslims were agnostic theists like Reza.

But unfortunately, most of them take their faith seriously and believe they'll go to hell if they don't believe in all the things listed in my pinned thread.

And, unfortunately, Sharia in govt prevents ppl like Reza from living their best life. He can be whoever he wants to be because he’s not living in a Muslim majority country that dictates his actions and ability to think freely etc. He has nonMuslims to thank for his freedom.

Isn’t that the fault of the individuals in the government and not Islam?
