I haven't over thought this but, it did cross my mind that random academics who get sudden social media fame, can be infected by god complex. The combo of an academic degree and online fandom can be brutal on a person. You start saying absurd shit and people still claps.
Perhaps. But when your day job is speaking to a room full of hundreds of undergrads that hang on your every word...you’re already at risk of having a god-complex. You don’t need to be infected by social media.
#NotAll of course, I wouldnt even say most, but it’s a thing.

For sure! I'm not even saying what I'm saying in a snarky manner. I think its a risk we all have on social media. Having "fans" can distort your sense of self and drive you to not examine your beliefs at times.
