You can’t believe that they do it 3 times in each prayer in Emirates and its so slow. A total of 15 times a day. I was almost crying to move to an Arabic country after leaving Iran

Ya, I lived in Qatar for almost a decade. A Mosque on every corner..and every Mosque had a speaker..but they wouldn’t play it all at the same time...no...they’d fucking stagger it so that it was just a cacophony that droned on and on
Same in UAE. The best is Friday prayer. I had to listen to 2 hours of an angry guy in the speaker. And the whole street was blocked by cars. They weren’t even Emarati themselves. Mainly from Pakistan.
Ive heard those too, those passionate speeches where you can see the anger building to a climax just to show how religious they are.
You gotta wonder about the effectiveness of the belief system when it's forced without leaving any other option. Like, it was banned to eat or cook anywhere during Ramadan in Iran. Did that mean we didn't eat? No, we just ate while hiding in school's bathroom.
