Me too. Even if we’re watching a movie and it plays I have to cover my ears and breath deeply till it’s over. Ppl can’t understand how that shit traumatizes you. As miserable as it is, it’s nice to know others who share your pain

It took me years to be able to separate architectural and artistic value from the ideological aspect of some mosques. and then I realized, how art, architecture, and beauty themselves were used and abused to justify the ugly ideology that corrupts it all like cancer
Even Arabic foods were ruined for me. For years, I wouldn’t even eat hummus because it was triggering. I know this sounds like hyperbole to ppl...but the trauma really is that deep.
