It validates my stubborn insistence (despite all the evidence to the contrary)that if ppl just hear me with an open mind, they’ll understand why I’m yelling so loud.
Thank you *so much* for your fierce support and love, Bridget

No. My parents divorced when I was two. My mom remarried to a man who was already married with three children of his own (in Islam a man can have up to four wives concurrently). Technically polygamy is against the law, but authorities turn a blind eye.

Thank you for explaining. Are/were you in touch at all with you father? Was he as entrenched in Sharia as your mom?
-
Yes, I was in touch w him periodically. No, he wasn’t religious at all. My mom became that way when she remarried-she wasn’t like that growing up or when she married my dad. She’s a ‘born again Muslim’
