Just listened and Im stunned all over again at how much my experience growing up Muslim is so similar to @meganphelps growing up in WBC. One glaring difference, of course, is the size of our ex-groups. Less than 100 ppl compared to over a billion

That moment! I just texted Megan about that! It was so moving. So heartbreaking. I think he was essentially falling on his sword with that proclamation. I think he regretted what he’d done and that it all got so out of hand...that was my interpretation anyway. - 2 more replies

Yes, to,quite an extent mine as well (Bible belt stuff...think Abbotsford, Clearbrook). Although I feel there was a vein or two of greater decency and “humaneness” in my prairie Menno upbringing.
