The parents should be pushing to have this prosecuted as a hate crime. That's exactly what it is.
Maybe he learned it from his peers...maybe family. Either way, if he acted thus, then that means the environment around him is already vitiated. And at such an age...!?
I feel like every one of these stories -- thousands a year -- is just people being shocked to discover Islam, and then shocked to discover Islam again an hour later, and the hour after that...
Begs the question: Where did he/his religious community get these ideas? Fact: Quran is teeming w dehumanizing references 2 Jews & exhortations 2 meet us w violence. But too many people are more interested in protecting Islam& theyre happy to do it on the backs of these children
No. He probably learned it from other children and youngsters. Sounds like grandstanding, trying to score cheap point among his peers. Not all bad behaviour is learned from parents, and parents can be genuinely horrified by what their offspring do and how they behave.

I do. I can imagine it. It’s easy to make slurs or jokes, it’s much harder to see it up close and personal.
