Anyone who thinks the picture is meant to be a message against the victims is trying so hard to be offended. That's their problem, not mine. It's only disrespectful if it was meant to be disrespectful.
It is disrespectful. If you did it by accident, if you didn’t know, ok. But we’re telling you now. Now you know. If you still keep it up, you are now choosing to be disrespectful.
You are spot on Yasmine.
I have more of a problem with "this photo should be removed" than the photo. Should a rainbow Kaaba be removed because it might offend? Who gets to draw the line of what is offensive?
Move on
THANK YOU.
The fact that an ex-Muslim group is posing is a TRIBUTE to the site given there is a genocide of ex-Muslims in Muslim countries. I see this image & I think of Maya Angelou’s “Still I Rise.” There’s a lot of things in the world to be offended about. This isn’t one of them.
One of my best friends at the site recently. It’s an aesthetically beautiful building. This is not aucshwitz. This is a “remembrance” site to encourage reflection on the horrors committed — however, it can also be artistically used in personal expression. Get over it.pic.twitter.com/dCqY7xuDvF
