Perhaps you want Islam to be a better religion than it ever really was. Harsh rules have been fundamental to Islam since its birth. As an ex-Muslims, I would say these rituals serve the purpose of brainwashing. Breaking us away from reality and keeping us devout to the fiction.

I agree there, it's a huge problem as these Mullahs pretend to know Islam, which they don't. The commoner is an illiterate of his own religion cuz he's inherited it. Believing the Mullahs is his shortcut to follow the faith, instead of finding out himself, hence the confusion
Would you consider that ppl who have spent their lives studying Islam, that create laws based on Sharia, that have spent years being scholars of the religion...might actually know what they’re talking about? Dont you think it’s arrogant to assume you know Islam better than them?

I'm not speaking out of arrogance. I'm not a devout Muslim, I just questioned my faith, didn't want to follow it only cuz my father did. That's y I studied other religions as well as Islam. That's y I know all this. I just believed that there was a God n I took it from there.
