Didn’t grow up Muslim, but as a Jehovah’s Witness kids were told the Smurfs and troll dolls were demonic and would infect any household that owned them.

I remember being told not to keep any toys like dolls or stuffed animals that had a face because they were imitating Gods creation and on the Day of Judgement God would ask us to put a soul in them which we wouldn't he able to do so then he'd punish us with hellfire.
