I think the point he is making is that these people only make the effort to comment on cruelty with an Islamic slant. Otherwise they are disinterested. But I thought the same when I read that, wasn’t clear.
He can’t know that. He has millions of followers. He can’t possibly know the intent of the person/ppl tweeting at him. He’s assuming the worst in them...therefore making it impossible to work together towards positive change
And you obviously know @rickygervais intent of assuming the worst in people? Maybe because I'm a cat but Ricky's comment was very clear to me

I find it pretty obvious when people are doing that.
I see your point that he(he is in @ in this conversation) might have taken those comments in bad faith/overly pc way.
It's very easy to see far right bigots and their profiles and their views.
These people complain about halal but never mention kosher slaughter. If they say ritual slaughter then it covers the whole practise- when they specify halal they are definitely adding in bigotry. And to make it clear I’m also against ritual slaughter.
