Western feminists are too scared to speak up for women fighting to be #FreeFromHijab lest they get this common accusation thrown at them
So, instead, women fighting for their basic rights get ignored by ppl who could help

Women from western countries getting involved will not help. It would be recast as negative foreign influence so could even be detrimental. The change has got to come from women in Muslim countries becoming aware of and fighting for their rights. No avoiding a long hard slog..

It's a cheap shot by Gervais. It is a shame that he pipes up and assumes an often disingenuous fight against the oppression of women.
They are not scared. It's part of their cultural and moral relativistic milieu.
I dont think Ricky is scared to criticize Islam, but I think he assumed that person thought it as important bc the said person had an ulterior agenda.
This is closer to if he felt people were criticizing the hijab to slam Islam without caring about women elsewhere... He’s talking about animal abuse and somehow you made it about the hijab. I’ve never seen a chicken in a hijab.
