White ppl cant refrain from fighting white supremacism because they say ‘it’s not my community’—because obviously ppl in the white supremacist community have no desire to fight it. I don’t think anyone should stay quiet when they see injustice anywhere, but esp w/in their comm.
And Muslims absolutely should speak up loudly to condemn Islamists and trans ppl should also speak loudly against trans ppl acting like predators-we all should condemn these things of course, but there’s more onus on those who share a community w the offenders(Lost track of #

It's the view of 'share a community' I disagree with. I'm lesbian, that doesn't make me part of some so-called community. I just happen to be lesbian and so are some other women. As long as I don't excuse behavior because I feel attached to someone who shares that trait.
Yes, I think the key difference is no one can tell you what community you’re a part of or what you should care about. But if you are a part of a community, you should (and probably naturally will) feel a responsibility to it. You’d want to speak up against injustices etc.
