White people cannot reasonably be expected to take responsibility for white supremacists. Muslims cannot reasonably be expected to take responsibility for Islamists. Trans people cannot reasonably be expected to take responsibility for Jessica Yaniv.

I agree we should do that but I don't define communities by identity. My community isn't white people or women. It's liberals & secular humanists of all races and both sexes.
-
Yes, you get to define what community you’re part of, of course.

Of a man who verbally attacked two women and a child because apparently he didn’t like that they were speaking Arabic. All Canadians feel responsible that we have to nip that in the bud and not let it go undeterred. As an ExMuslim, I feel a responsibility towards my community 2

so I speak out against execution of apostates, homophobia, gender inequality etc in Muslim communities. And I’m eternally grateful for Muslim ppl doing the work of changing hearts and minds from the inside. It is our responsibility to clean up our communities. 3

This is my stance to. Like it or not people unrelated to the crime would be held accountable. Just look at Germany post WW2. Most of these people actually didn't murder anyone.
-
That’s a great example. And all Germans really offered a huge mea culpa (and they still are). It’s necessary to take responsibility to keep your community accountable or things will go off the rails very quickly as no one else will take responsibility either.

My community is where I live. Not the color of my skin. There is no white community there is white people. This is a deeply flawed view in my book.
