There are always idiots who harass. And there are always idiotic sects who hold up signs saying ‘god hates fags’ or ‘behead those who insult the profit’. All I’m suggesting is we recognise them as extreme in the same way we do extreme christians or it’s a double standard.

Idk but I think that comes from the intense pressure exmuslims get from Muslim’s to defend them even if we don’t agree... also there are LGBT muslims who defend verses that order for their murder sooo this cognitive dissonance is common

True. The lines are getting blurred now as well because I think people are beginning to think that large numbers of members means it isn’t extremist. There are huge numbers of creationists now, but their interpretation is still extreme. Wahabbism is still extreme too.

“To think large numbers of members means it isn’t extremist” I just thought of the Birmingham school protests and how organized and bold they’re w/ their homophobia... wahabis/salafis are so much worse than just being a creationists, these people deal in eradicating joy

are also experiencing a similar change. The Imam in Tasmania is a friend of the family and I think he is pretty surprised at what he is seeing. He has been in Australia for as long as I can remember so I think he would find his home country has changed quite a lot.

A lot of my friends are saying Arabisation is happening so rapidly there, something needs to be done... it’s also a huge worry for Australia w/ Indonesia already being a jihadi hub, we’re becoming surrounded by ideologically hostile nations

I get what you mean but this is how the Malays are wording it. It may be racism because I’ve certainly seen a lot of that but the PM said to resist ‘Arab style’ Islam. https://www.smh.com.au/world/mahathirs-full-speech-20031022-gdhmg3.html …https://www.malaymail.com/news/malaysia/2015/05/23/marina-mahathir-malaysia-undergoing-arab-colonialism/902417 …
