I was amazed when I learned some years bac,k while trying to learn about this history, that the UN separated Palestinians out as a separate category to every other refugee under their convention. That’s where “the money” comes from.

UNHCR deals with all refugees except for Palestinians who are under UNRWA with different rules and highly corrupt. The point is to continue and increase their numbers via second and third generation and never resettling them while sending money to an even more corrupt leadership.
