I dared to speak about the apartheid in Lebanon against Palestinians yesterday and since I’ve gotten nothing but grief from people telling me they don’t deserve equal rights. Some called them criminals.

Lebanese treat Palestinians like second-class citizens...they all do. Palestinians are treated like dogs by Arab states. They only like them when it’s time to use them as pawns to bludgeon Israel.

Meanwhile there are many Palestinians in Israeli govt. I don’t think it’s a good thing. You never feel fully comfortable when you’re a guest in someone’s home. In America and in Canada, my dad was immediately treated w respect and easily became a full citizen as all others.

I think that’s a huge part of it (especially for Lebanese Christians) but they generally treat refugees badly there.
@faisalalmutar has told the story of how a Lebanese customs agent spat at him (when he was entering as a refugee)-that was his welcome into the country

Yes. Messy is an understatement. And as bad as it is, what’s so much more depressing is how many people are attached to the BDS narrative instead of reading or traveling and understanding that if you care about human rights, the enemy is corruption and extremism.
