I am so grateful to have been born in Canada. I’m acutely aware of how much better my life is compared to if I had been born in either of my parents’ homelands. I love Canada and being Canadian. That’s why being told ‘go back to your country’ hurt so much. /1

I’m enraged that Richard Spencer was on CNN responding to this issue. How is his ilk normalized and on mainstream media now? Everyone gets called racist all day so now the word has no meaning to the point that white supremacists are getting invited on shows like anyone else?? /4

The word still has a meaning. Sometimes it’s grey and muddy and sometimes it’s neon fucking yellow. Normalizing the grey and muddy rolls out the red carpet for the neon fucking yellow. /5

For those not getting it: I don’t like any of the ‘squad’ and I will not defend their actions. That’s not the point of this rant. Trump could have criticized them without invoking racist sounding language. That is the issue here. He crossed the line. /6

The lines are all blurry. When both Trump and Pelosi get called racist in the same week...you might as well get Richard Fucking Spence on CNN because nobody knows where any lines are now anyway.

The 'criticisms' that the squad have made in last year have been extreme. All 4 thought that a symbolic vote - against the recent Bill to send money to the border to help everyone struggling there - was better than sending the money. One instance.
-
I would argue that they have opened the floodgates first - by being extreme manipulators and out to make the Dem party into something of their own taste. Regardless of who gets mashed up in the process. They are dangerous too.

This is not a fair assessment. As someone who lost his country (Iran) to the alliance of leftists+Islamists in 79, I think it’s the duty of any patriot, including the president to call those out who don’t have America’s best interest in mind. It pisses some off, but it’s necessary

But it's not her job to criticize the government. It's her job to represent the people of her district and uphold the Constitution the United States. Some of the things that she has said (and some things she has refused to say) make people doubt her sincerity for this country.
