The best schools—whether the kids are black, white, red, brown, yellow or purple—would involve project-based, multi-age learning that met the child where they were at in terms of development. That is not available to ANY children in America. (Hardly any.)
Here in rural hawaii? No. But even in Seattle...there was only 1 Montessori and it only went through elementary, I believe. US academic requirements since No Child Left Behind have made it impossible for alternative schools to function past elementary.
