I hadn't thought about that Yasmine! I've been to Egypt, Turkey and other "muslim countries".. I think you are right. This religion has subjected many cultures. When I've visited though, they all have treated me with kindness, generosity and respect. Seems incongruent I know..
It’s not incongruent. Most Muslims are good ppl-most humans are good ppl. In any society, the ones wreaking havoc are the minority. But this thread is about how those countries used to have rich, diverse, distinct cultures and now they’re just seen as: MUSLIM.
I did say "seems"incongruent. In my limited experience (which would shock many, perhaps even you) I agree that there's a glorious culture that survives under the oppression of a dominating dogma. But there are zealots that always control the uneducated & often the apathetic. IMO
