Burkini ban in France has gone too far. Save secularism, sure, but not authoritatively. Niqab is where the line should be drawn for the basis of security and social cohesion.
That's what France has been known for though: assertive rather than passive secularism. It is what it is, here is a very good journal article written on this topic, including extensive ref to France https://muse.jhu.edu/article/228915
And one of their spokeswomen is an admirer of the Ramadan brothers. She used to flaunt a peculiar facebook banner : "n'oubliez jamais que c'est Charlie qui a dégainé le premier" = never forget that Charlie (Hebdo) drew first. A very nice person : Taous Hammouti. What a surprise.

I agree. Let them enjoy the swimming pool just like everybody else. Swimming in a mixed surroundings may already be a big step for them.
French have weird laws in swimming pools. They won’t let Brits wear Bermuda-style shorts either. Should allow all types of costumes.
I was wondering why I haven't seen your tweet from a month. Then I saw this.
It's such an obvious political move. And, hey, welcome back, Yasmine!
