I keep seeing people tweet that the hashtag
#Pride or seeing PRIDE flags, or "marketing" being bigger is making them think/wonder how to be better allies. They are wondering what they can do, even if they aren't LGBTQIA+ & I find that huge. That is how awareness & change happen. -
Will it change the countries where it is illegal & punishable by death? Probably not. But it will bring awareness that it IS illegal & punishable by death elsewhere & there is the hope that pressure to change will mount. Meanwhile, here in the US we may lose our rights. Or ‘raising a finger’ to the homophobic parents at Parkfield and Anderton Schools who threaten the gains we have made in this country on LGBT rights would also be good.
