Some of us are to expected to believe God, the creator of the universe, conceived a child with a 14 year old Mary. What’s a half-century age difference compared to THAT?! That without even exploring the notion that Mary was impregnated by her heavenly FATHER. Yikes!

The most common justification I've heard is that girls developed earlier in those days. Although I looked it up and, IIRC, the opposite is true - lack of nutrition delays puberty.
