Im so so sorry that happened to you! I didnt realize divorce was only allowed one way islamically. Jews have divorce too & while there is DEF shame with a woman asking for one culturally in orthodox communities, she absolutely has that right by religious law
My understanding is that a Muslim woman may request a divorce and the decision is a matter for a court; a Jewish woman may do the same but the court may not impose a divorce on a man who refuses. Is that correct?
