I work in a Lebanese restaurant and today at work during iftar my 2 muslim colleagues were breaking their fast and I took care of the clients so they could eat because we dont have breaks. That's when 2 Muslim men came in and asked for 2 plates of shawarma and suddenly (1/7)

1 of the men asked me why I wasnt eating with my colleagues. I simply answered with a smile "it's because I'm not Muslim". Then that man said something that I couldn't hear and him & his friend started laughing. I asked what he said and he answered "oh I was just joking" (2/7)

So I insisted on him repeating it so he said "I said then why are you touching my food" & they laughed again. I stood there looking at that man who thought I was probably ignorant & thought he could just insult me thinking he's so clever. I replied "why? Because I'm najes?" (3/7)

Both suddenly stopped laughing and looked at me with utter surprise and that man said "oh so you know about our religion.." and I replied "of course I do" with a smirk on my face and I was thinking about how much I wanted to throw to his face that plate I was preparing him. (4/7)

Then I added "however my hands need to be wet for your food to become najes" & they both looked at me perplexed so I said "seems like I know more about ur religion than you do". Then that pile of garbage said "najes? What is najes? I just say quebecois when I speak of dirt" (5/7)
