I generally like your arguments but this is not a good analogy. The hijab is being worn as a religious obligation by women who subscribe to that religion. Whereas this turban is being misused as a fashion accessory by those who are not part of that religion.

Uh no. The hijab is put on nonMuslim women on runways all the time...as well as American flag hijabs being put on women at the women’s march...
