I think it's more that @afneil is a class interviewer

I think so too. Even bringing up the tweets was an opportunity for Ben to bring up (again) publicly that he regrets his wording. I don’t think it was necessarily a gotcha. I think Neil is a rare breed of journalist that actually does his job well.

Shapiro the "master debater" can't handle being challenged by an intelligent man and professional like Andrew Neil. It's easier when you have to go against screaming college students. LOL

Andrew Neil is in a different league of journalism to Cathy Newman (She's clueless). There aren't many that'll go into an interview with Neil and not come out nursing a bruised ego

Neil found all of Shapiro's weak points. Though he gave good offense, they got want they wanted from him, which is a bad reaction. Peterson has trained himself not to get flared up. With every interview, he keeps passing the test.

Really, it's a maturity thing. Neil's pompous, but he's played the game longer than Ben. Ben is good, but he relies on stock answers too much.

For an outsider American media seems a lot of like minded folks patting on each other’s backs and British style is very confrontational.

Critical and objective thinking isn’t Shapiros MO. He is an idealist that ultimately leads to emotional responses based on his strong ideology. In this interview it appears true that ‘facts don’t care about feeling’ and Shapiro was owned by Neil.
