The fact that FIFTEEN countries will execute you for being gay is barely a blip on their screen The fact that women are imprisoned and killed for not wearing hijab is not concerning That’s gay ppl and women that are far away-they don’t matter
#NotAll of course, but it’s incredibly concerning that those who purport to care about women and LGBT only care about them if they share the same land mass as them.
For the others, they cant even be bothered to raise their voice in solidarity. A tweet or show of support is rare.
Nothing exposes their fake altruism better than their complete lack of empathy for the people enduring real suffering just a plane ride away from them. It shows they are simply pushing an ideological narrative, and compassion is the last thing on their minds. They just want power
Ah but that would mean they have to condemn those countries, and that would make them, by their own standards, racist and phobic. They can't have double standards, so they ignore it in those cases.
Its an awkward game of intersectional top trumps. They haven't figured out who has more oppresion points so they cant pick a side.

Brilliant Yasmine and it is exactly how I feel about it . The Left talk about a Global society, but they can barely care about people outside the dinner parties they go to , let alone women in Iran fighting for their freedom
