I do not agree with Harris here at all and I did not expect this to be a topic. It is not a topic I am not qualified to speak on, so I did not want to press back and get it wrong, allowing his mistaken view to prevail. I should have more clearly said he was wrong here tho

Translation: "not qualified" does not mean she doesn't know anything about the subject. It means this is about Muslim women, and she is not allowed to criticize the culture or beliefs of a "protected group", or it would be deemed islamophobic.

I don't know, maybe the fact that he thinks disavowing Islam is the only way you can renounce its most extremist ideologies--which is frankly absurd. I see what you're saying about the hijab, and I'm not about to mansplain, but this sorely requires intersectional analysis.
