I agree with you. I have a muslim friend who did not learn to swim until she got married, to a very progressive muslim man, in an arranged marriage, that has been a very good match!
I never learned to swim. And I got my first bike (from my husband) on my 40th birthday.
My girlfriend also never got a bike until her husband bought her one...he taught her and their female child to ride at the same time...and they belonged to the Ismaeli mosque in YYC!!!
