Almost 200 followers fled since I RTed affirmation that Israel has every right to defend itself from terrorists lobbing rockets at civilians. Is that a controversial position in this sick world? I stand w peaceful Israelis and Palestinians-not terrorists. #SaveGazaFromHamas

For those of you who don’t know me, my dad is from Gaza. I was named Philistine (Palestine in Arabic) before my parents realized what it meant in English 😄This topic is personal to me. Please go away and take your condescending comments w you.

I followed you AND wish that more people like you would rise up and become leaders of your people. I truly believe we can live side by side in peace, which would bring incredible economic conditions for both our people.

Yasmine, slightly off topic 🤓, but is the name "Yasmine" derived from the flower, jasmine? I saw that the etymology of the English "jasmine" is from French, via Arabic, then Persian. Is Yasmine a common Arabic name? 🌸

You got a much more beautiful name now, Yasmine is derived from Persian "Yâsaman", or jasmine the flower. A widely popular flower in ancient Persian gardens.

The name “Palestine” is a borrowed term from the ancient Greek “Palaistine” and the Syrian " Palaestina " of the Roman era. I personally think the title Philistine or Philistina is a beautiful name for a girl or woman.
