Not surprised! Saddened, but not surprised.
Pretty sick. I was saying to a friend I used to think all the stories at Jewish gatherings were hyperbolic, but of course I understood the need for the extra vigilance. It’s clear now that I was the one who was misinformed-it wasn’t hyperbolic at all.
Sadly, it's not. I think about it when and where I will travel. I think about it if I should or shouldn't go to restaurants, scared if I will be poisoned (this is all before I got sick). I've been the victim of antisemitic attacks. The world just gets scarier.
I'm terrified for my 8 month old niece, and the antisemitism she will face. What kind of world will she live in? Where will she be safe? Will she need to flee America? It's not out of the realm of possibilities anymore.
