You could say that women have every right to stay at home and be with their husbands, but if you're going to suggest that women staying at home under the order of their husbands was "empowering", then we have a problem. That is exactly what the hijab is.
Having the right to choose to wear it ....and celebrating it as empowering are two completely different things. There’s no way ppl don’t get that. No one is that dumb.

For the feminist movement the hijab just became one of many power symbols. Burn the bra was another empowering moment in the 70's. Someday their movement will find another.
