I've never understood this claim that some people 'hide behind religion' to excuse their bigotry. I'm always convinced it IS their religion that causes them to think that way. It's not as if they were bigoted THEN joined a religion but rather their religion teaches them bigotry.

I agree. I mean hide behind it in an effort to shield themselves from criticism....As in, you can’t criticize my bigotry because it’s divinely ordained. I don’t care. Bigotry is bigotry regardless of the source.

He's said he wouldn't go to his sisters wedding if she married a non-Jew. He said he won't celebrate his "friends" marriage because he's gay. If that's not disdain what is it?
