Yas, you are again right. Shapiro is wrong. I suggest you, and all of us, stop using the word "tolerate." It's not a virtue. It's a sin (metaphor, of course). Toleration of Shapiro's, or any religious person's, bigoted hatreds is collaboration in those hatreds.

Recusing oneself from participating in an activity you don't approve of is about as mild-mannered as it gets. It's the hatred that makes someone a homophobe. I don't see that in Shapiro, unlike in Farakhan.
