Why don’t you guys hash this out on @benshapiro’s Sunday special?
I’m sure you’ll have much more to talk about; should be interesting. Certainly nothing much getting accomplished on twitter.

Ben probably hates me now, but there’s nothing to hash out-his position is clear: I have the right to have disdain for whomever I want as long as I’m not impinging on their personal freedom-and my disdain is protected under religious freedom. And he’s right. 1

That is his right. But it doesn’t mean it’s right. If he’s going to publicly declare his disdain and expect no backlash from ppl then that’s delusional. Of course ppl will criticize his open homophobia. Of course we think his stance against inter-faith marriage is intolerant.

I grew up w religious ppl proclaiming their bigotry every wk on megaphones undaunted-but heaven forbid some poor soul say anything back at them! The cries are heard far and wide! They don’t get a pass because of some ancient book. They should get called out like every other bigot

Ok, I agree with you. All I’m saying is: we have to be objective and systematic about it. Ben not being on board with gay marriage is manifestly different from the consequences of homosexuality in the Mid East; or of some baker refusing to bake a wedding cake.

Yes, I’m aware. But both stem from homophobia.

I mean for me honestly it seems Ben is almost best friends with
@RubinReport So I wouldn’t personally qualify that as homophobia; simply because I’d feel it would take away from the adjective to describe treatments under sharia or even other extreme versions.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

So if I tell a Black person to their face, in their house, I think you are sinful because you were born w dark skin...does that mean I’m not racist?

I understand the elusion you’re making But I don’t think the analogy is accurate For something to be a ‘sin’ it has to involve some kind of action not an immutable like skin color I can try to answer a more applicable analogy.

Being gay is immutable.
