I’m looking forward to watching it! He’s Egyptian-American, so I suspect I’ll relate to a lot of it. Though he says his family is religious l, they’re not even close to slightly near as religious as mine...so that will definitely be different.

Perhaps it’s all about perspective, but I was born and the raised in the West just like Ramy. He talks a LOT about religion and being Muslim, but when he describes his life it is objectively very far from religious.

Yes, definitely. Giving up porn for Ramadan is basic. All the dude bros (say they) do that. Not eating pork or drinking is literally the least they do-they’re on the least religious side of the spectrum. But yes, many still do that and call themselves Muslim—but not religious.

I agree. I’m just commenting on the fact that he calls his family religious when they’re clearly not...but I see your point-compared to the average nonMuslim viewer, they seem religious as non-religious Christians give almost no indication of their religion, whereas Muslims do.

Islam is a LOT more demanding than Christianity. I can know ppl for yrs and not know they’re Christian-the same is not true for Muslims.
