I just want to cry. This morning my mother forced me to change my outfit just because i was wearing sporty and accused me of trying to attract men to my bed. I hate this piece of tissue that doesn't define me nor my ideology.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing w that garbage. I remember my mom yelling at me when I was *nine* saying those things to me. Their minds are actually messed up. Who thinks like that??

What if I like wearing it? Im 15, I wear hijab, and I love it. If you dont want to wear it, thats your choice. I completely respect that. But the way you speak of hijab is as if it is something oppressive. It is only opressive if you are being forced to wear it or dont like it.

I support all who fight to make 'hijab' a matter of choice, for gentle and wise persuasion by loving persons is one thing, whilst coercion and compulsion by those in authority is quite another. Anyhow, there's an insiders' perspective to consider:https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/times2/leanne-maskell-modelling-is-like-being-on-drugs-you-crave-approval-i-hated-myself-rvxh3gtrg …
