You're continuing to attack a strawman. Shapiro (who I do not like in most instances) never said that others should have the same preferences as himself. You're basically saying that the person you define as intolerant is under an obligation to appease others. That's wrong.

Furthermore, you're the one being intolerant when you say to a person who has a divergent view on a topic to "just celebrate with them." How intolerant would it be for a Muslim woman marrying a Christian to force her family to attend if they don't want to? Very intolerant.

Tolerance is a two-way street. In order to be tolerant, you need to allow others who you personally view as intolerant to express their actions as long as they are not causing harm. And forcing someone to attend an event that they are opposed to is extremely intolerant.
