These people are infuriating. For them, no behaviour or belief is problematic unless it involves asking the government to compel people to do things. They honestly think that’s the only possible moral test, as if a bigot is no problem at all until he involves the government.

It’s such a stupid and narrow view... they will défend literally any statement, opinion or attitude as “free-thought”, no matter how racist/sexist/homophobic unless you ask the government to do something, which apparently is the be all end all of morality.

They’ve just been tricked into thinking that believing something without evidence is acceptable. When of course as Christopher Hitchens said “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence” to be believed ... not no evidence at all like is the case with all world religions!
