If religious ppl say things like: I wont go to a wedding for a gay couple or an inter-religious couple-even if it’s in my family-do those ppl have a leg to stand on when ppl reciprocate by being intolerant to their religions? Why is it only ok for the religious to be intolerant?

If someone had said ‘I’m not going to my cousin’s wedding because he’s marrying a Jew’ then Ben would understand why his comment is problematic.

It's not that we don't tolerate it . It's that people force you to accept the way they live or believe through the law. That's the problem I do t care what gays, muslim , lgbt, or anyone does. Just don't force me to have to accept it.

1/ The take is wrong in so many ways. 1. 1st of all,
@benshapiro doesn't want you're respect of him & his beliefs, he just want everyone to let everyone be so long there's no harm done and compulsion to act. He's been clear about his socially libertarian stance. -
2. Ben couldn't care less about the person that chooses to not attend his/her cousin's wedding with a jew. He'd just simply let him/her be, that's by definition tolerance.

Tolerance, or even acceptance doesn't equal participation.

You're confusing tolerance with acceptance. If a family member smokes, you may tolerate the habit, but refuse to accept it by lighting the cigarette. In between is a range of actions that are reasonable provided they are dictated by genuine concern for the person's best interest.

I’m surprised at your intolerance of individuality, freedom of religion, respect for differences,Yasmine. Using the term intolerance for this scenario is faulty. What you seem to want is to dilute everyone into a soup ideology. Tolerance=respecting personal diversity.

@YasMohammedxx “Tolerance works both ways” is 100% correct! Yet you have a bizarre idea of tolerance. In your Tweets and comments tolerance is strictly a one way street >>> your way. As it turns out the only one actually practicing “both ways” tolerance is@benshapiro.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
