If religious ppl say things like: I wont go to a wedding for a gay couple or an inter-religious couple-even if it’s in my family-do those ppl have a leg to stand on when ppl reciprocate by being intolerant to their religions? Why is it only ok for the religious to be intolerant?

Tolerance works both ways, all ways. If you want ppl to respect who you are and your beliefs and value system, then you are obligated to do the same. You can’t demand tolerance while practicing intolerance.

If someone had said ‘I’m not going to my cousin’s wedding because he’s marrying a Jew’ then Ben would understand why his comment is problematic.

The other night I was at a function where he was speaker. He quite clearly stated that if it's family or friends, of course he would attend. It's only in a public venue when someone states what is clearly against his beliefs that he will disagree.

It’s call freedom-Americans have had freedom 4 a long time 2 choose what the like/dislike-I would never skip out on either wedding scenario above-but that’s as much my freedom as the 1 that would choose to skip-This is what libs are missing in society-Freedom of speech & thought!

Be’s also said he declined an invitation to a gay friend’s wedding as it’s against his religious principles, but he would gladly go out to dinner with his friend and his friend’s husband. Don’t act like Shapiro is homophobic for repudiating an event that opposes his religion.
