I know you like to say you hate reformers and reforming Islam, but that’s literally what you’re advocating for. Embrace it. It’s a good thing to want your religion to fit w liberal/humanist values.

That doesn’t mean he’s moderate-or depends what you mean by moderate, I guess. Islamists/Muslim Brotherhood ppl are like that. Their MO is to blend in by using the same jargon and dressing the same etc. It’s the fundamentalists/jihadis that want to stand out by looking different.

I wouldnt classify Islamists/ Qatar funded Hamas supporters as moderate, even if I do applaud Mahdi’s specific action here of condemning homophobia in Islam
