If we haven’t moved on from a societal point of view in over 2,000 years, I doubt we ever will. The books are the word of god and cannot be diluted. Governments will always find a suitable punishment. Religion from the books is at the core of the problem, Christianity or Islam.

It’s more of a problem in Islam because 15 Muslim majority countries will execute you for being gay. There are no Christian theocracies that legally sanction that.

I understand that it’s a huge problem globally. I know that 74 countries criminalize being gay. My point is that the WORST of it happens in Islamic countries where ppl are executed. I’m not saying it’s not horrible in many other places.
