i hear ya.. its the crisis of confidence in the 'western' culture sphere. we have a better cultural model, demonstrably so.. but so paralyzed by both correct and false historical assumptions of collective guilt we cant acknowledge that upsetting other cultures is not worse..

All I care about is that being gay is a universal human right. If people aren’t prepared to fight for basic human rights for fear of being called a bigot, we are in a very sad space.

1. Being Gay isn't a "right". One of the human rights is "right to live" - provided your life doesn't cause disharmony, or threaten the existence and future of the society. In times of yore, a gay person would cause furore. Hence no human rights for gays. Now, not so much.
