So, I’m happy for my tax dollars to go to helping ppl who need to turn to the govt for support. If that means I’m a pro bigger govt socialist, so be it. The label is irrelevant, as long as ppl around me aren’t left suffering needlessly

You are right about the balance between conservatism and socialism. People often think of the Scandinavian countries as "socialist", but they are not. Norway is a capitalist country with a flourishing oil industry but taxes its citizens heavily for its many socialist programs.
