Ppl are free to choose to support their own subjugation, but that does not change the fact that it’s still subjugation. You can CHOOSE to eat a bacon donut for breakfast-the fact that you chose it does nothing to detract from the fact that a bacon donut is unhealthy.
I may not really have the right to chime in here, since I’m of a different culture, but embracing hijab reminds me of Stockholm Syndrome. Some people escape their kidnappers. Others fall in love with them.
Modesty culture promotes blame and not responsibility...... blame is always easier.
